Bill Shearer
eBusiness and Marketing Consultant

Bill has worked for a series of blue-chip companies, mainly in Edinburgh and London for over thirty years. For the past seventeen years, as well as heading up marketing departments and therefore heavily involved in marketing plans and marketing planning, Bill has particular experience in event management, exhibitions, print and design and copy writing.

After completing his marketing diploma in 1993 and joining the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), Bill embarked on an MBA at Warwick University. As a precursor to setting up his own marketing consultancy, Bill specialised in marketing, HR and the small business sector at Warwick.

Bill has been working as a consultant since 1996, firstly as an internal consultant at NatWest and then as a Management Consultant in the City of London, including a major fraud assignment in the Middle East.

As further preparation for his business, Bill spent 2002 and 2003 as “Head of Membership, Training and Events” at Sussex Enterprise, the Chamber of Commerce for Sussex. Bill also teaches at Hastings College, in marketing and management.


Edward Clarke
E-Commerce and Software Consultant

Edward is the broadband centre’s e-commerce and software consultant. Among many other jobs, Edwards’ role is to assist clients in their endeavour to integrate a software infrastructure to minimise administration, increase productivity and maximise their businesses potential. Edward can assist with website development, databases, e-commerce, payment systems, domain registration, hosting, online marketing, search engine optimisation, accounting, CRM, content management and much, much more.

Edward’s career started when working for a local software company as a trainee analyst / programmer. After completing the official Microsoft™ curriculum in application development and database design, Edward was contracted to clients as well as part of an “in-house” development team building complex business to business systems.

Beyond contracting, Edward setup a programming services company offering a range of development skills and consultancy to SME’s in their quest to bring effective use of software and web enabled services to their business. After building and opening shops online, dealing with the many payment service providers, managing client accounts, sales invoices and purchasing, all through web based software solutions, Edward is proud to be able to offer free and impartial ecommerce and software consultancy to the small businesses of Hastings and Bexhill.
