CBI Survey indicates continued manufacturer optimism
The CBI Industrial Trends Survey for May showed that manufacturers were expecting to increase their prices on the back of healthy order books. 32% of firms said they were dealing with 'above normal' levels of orders, compared with 26% who said they were 'below normal'. Although export orders have decreased, output volumes are expected to increase over the next three months.
